Refund and Returns Policy

Blue Birds Haven

At Blue Birds Haven, the health and safety of our Hyacinth Macaws and Lear’s Macaws are our top priority. Because we sell live birds, our refund and return policy is different from standard product returns. Please read this policy carefully before placing a reservation or completing a purchase.

Live Animal Sales Policy

All sales of live birds are considered final once the bird has been shipped or delivered. Due to animal welfare, biosecurity, and stress-related risks, we do not accept returns or exchanges of live macaws after delivery.

However, we do offer limited guarantees as outlined below to protect our customers and ensure fair transactions.

Health Guarantee

Each macaw is examined and confirmed healthy prior to leaving our care. If your bird arrives with a serious health issue or is deceased upon arrival, you must notify Blue Birds Haven within 24 hours of delivery and provide clear photo or video evidence from the time of delivery.

If the issue is verified by our team and confirmed by an avian veterinarian when required, we may offer one of the following at our discretion:
a replacement bird of similar value when available, or
a partial or full refund of the purchase price, excluding shipping and service fees.

Veterinary expenses after delivery are the responsibility of the buyer unless otherwise agreed in writing.

Reservation Deposits

Reservation deposits are used to hold a specific bird and remove it from public listing. For this reason, all reservation deposits are non-refundable. If the buyer later cancels or fails to complete payment within the agreed timeframe, the deposit will be forfeited.

In the rare event that Blue Birds Haven cannot fulfill the reservation due to unforeseen circumstances, the deposit will be fully refunded.

Shipping and Delivery Fees

Shipping, handling, crate, insurance, and logistics fees are non-refundable once shipping arrangements have been made. These costs are paid to third-party service providers and cannot be recovered once services are initiated.

Delays caused by weather, airline schedules, or regulatory checks do not qualify for refunds of shipping fees.

Cancellations Before Shipping

If a full payment has been made and the bird has not yet been shipped, cancellation requests must be submitted in writing. Approved cancellations may be eligible for a partial refund minus reservation fees, administrative costs, and any expenses already incurred.

Approval of cancellation refunds is at the sole discretion of Blue Birds Haven.

Buyer Responsibilities

Buyers are responsible for providing a safe, clean, and appropriate environment for their macaw upon arrival. Failure to follow basic care guidelines, exposure to other birds, or unsafe handling after delivery voids any health guarantee.

We strongly recommend scheduling an avian veterinary checkup within 72 hours of receiving your bird.

Fraud and Chargebacks

Any attempt to reverse payments or file chargebacks after delivery without valid cause will be considered a violation of this policy and may result in permanent banning from future purchases and legal recovery of losses.

Policy Updates

Blue Birds Haven reserves the right to update or modify this Refund and Return Policy at any time without prior notice. The most current version will always be posted on this page.
