Health Guarantee & Veterinary Certification

Blue Birds Haven

At Blue Birds Haven, the health of every Hyacinth Macaw and Lear’s Macaw we offer is taken seriously. We follow strict care and monitoring standards to ensure that each bird is strong, stable, and ready to transition safely into a new home in the United States.

Veterinary Screening Before Placement

Every macaw is observed daily and assessed for overall health, alertness, feather condition, hydration, and feeding behavior prior to being approved for reservation or shipment. When required, birds are checked by licensed avian veterinarians and cleared for transport based on age, condition, and travel readiness.

Only birds that meet our internal health and stability standards are approved for delivery.

Travel Fitness and Shipping Readiness

Before shipment, each bird is evaluated to confirm it is fit for transport. This includes monitoring stress levels, feeding consistency, and physical activity. Birds are hydrated, properly fed, and conditioned to travel environments to reduce stress during transit.

We work only with transport services experienced in live bird handling and climate-controlled delivery procedures.

Arrival Health Assurance

We guarantee that all macaws are alive and in good physical condition at the time of delivery. Any serious health concern or abnormal condition visible at delivery must be reported to Blue Birds Haven within 24 hours with clear photo or video evidence taken immediately upon receipt.

Verified claims may qualify for replacement consideration or refund of the bird’s purchase price, excluding transport and service fees.

Post-Arrival Veterinary Care

Buyers are encouraged to schedule a wellness examination with an avian veterinarian within 72 hours of arrival. This protects both the bird and the buyer and helps establish long-term health records for the macaw.

Health conditions that develop after the initial arrival period, or that result from environmental stress, diet changes, or improper handling, are not covered under this guarantee.

What This Guarantee Covers

This guarantee is limited to:
confirmation of live arrival,
absence of major illness at delivery,
basic physical soundness at time of transfer.

It does not cover normal adjustment behavior, mild stress responses, temporary appetite changes, or long-term medical conditions that may arise after placement.

Buyer Care Responsibilities

Proper housing, temperature control, clean water, and species-appropriate nutrition must be available before delivery. Exposure to other birds, unsanitary conditions, or improper handling after arrival voids any health-related claims.

Owning a blue macaw is a long-term responsibility, and stable care during the first days is critical for successful adjustment.

Certification and Documentation

Where applicable, veterinary health documentation and transport clearance records are provided or made available upon request prior to shipment. Buyers are responsible for ensuring that ownership and import requirements are met according to local and state regulations.

Commitment to Ethical Placement

Our goal is not only to sell macaws, but to place Hyacinth and Lear’s Macaws into permanent, responsible homes. Health screening, veterinary oversight, and careful placement are part of our commitment to ethical breeding and responsible sales practices.

For any questions related to health standards, veterinary checks, or delivery readiness, buyers are encouraged to contact us directly through our website before completing a reservation.
